Carolina Volkswagen is seeking a motivated, customer-focused Automotive Vehicle Exchange Specialist to engage service customers, identify upgrade opportunities, and support both sales volume and used inventory acquisition. This position works directly in the service drive and requires someone who is confident initiating conversations, knowledgeable about vehicle ownership cycles, and comfortable guiding customers through upgrade options. About the Role: This position is ideal for someone who understands service-drive traffic and knows how to turn natural conversations into opportunities. You’ll use tools like Automotive Mastermind, review customer data, evaluate equity positions, and work closely with our Service and Sales teams to present meaningful, well-timed upgrade paths – actively connecting with customers who already trust our dealership (service guests, previous buyers, and equity-positive clients). Who This Role Is Perfect For: Candidates who naturally thrive here often come from: Service Advisor or ASM backgrounds – comfortable talking with service customers and understanding repair timelines BDC / Customer Care roles – strong at follow-up, outreach, and relationship building Experienced automotive salespeople – confident presenting options, handling objections, and closing Equity mining or upgrade program roles – familiar with identifying qualified customers Trade desk, appraisal, or used car acquisition backgrounds If you’ve ever been the person customers naturally gravitate toward with questions, this role will reward that skill.

Responsibilities

  • Engage service customers to identify potential trade-in and upgrade opportunities
  • Use Automotive Mastermind and CRM tools to generate and manage equity-positive leads
  • Present upgrade options clearly and professionally
  • Appraise vehicles accurately and communicate valuations with confidence
  • Facilitate new and pre-owned sales directly from the service drive
  • Acquire quality vehicles for inventory through buy-backs and trade-ins
  • Maintain communication through phone, email, text, and CRM follow-up
  • Work closely with Service Advisors and Sales Managers to maximize daily opportunities

Requirements

  • Proven success in automotive sales or service-lane customer engagement
  • Experience with equity mining or upgrade software preferred
  • Strong communication, customer service, and relationship-building skills
  • Confident with appraisals, trade-ins, and presenting payment options
  • Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple active customers
  • Professional appearance and dependable work ethic
