Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Organize and control the flow of service work through the shop in a professional, timely manner 
  • Work closely with the Service Advisors daily to ensure processes are being followed by the team to maximize shop flow and profitability 
  • Implement and maintain an effective dispatch system 
  • Schedule shop work to facilitate maximum productivity in accordance with dealership policy and the technician skill level required 
  • Ensure proper repair order documentation, i.e., complaint, cause, and correction noted on every repair order with punch time for each operation 
  • Maintain an organized and up-to-date repair log 
  • Prepare a list of needed service department equipment, supplies, and required repairs, and reviews it with the Service Manager as needed 
  • Advise the Fixed Operation Manager of repetitive shortages so that corrective action can be taken 
  • Ensure that Technicians follow warranty material disposition procedures 
  • Maintain a professional appearance for self and subordinates in accordance with company policy

Requirements

  • Automotive Service Dispatcher, Service Manager, Service Advisor or Technician experience is required 
  • Capable of working independently as well as in a team 
  • Organized and friendly personality with good customer service skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage others 
  • Time management skills 
  • High school diploma or equivalent
