Responsibilities

  • Oversee all parts department operations, including retail and wholesale sales, inventory control, and vendor relations
  • Manage and mentor a team of parts counter staff to ensure excellent customer service and productivity
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels and perform regular stock audits to avoid overstock or shortages
  • Order OEM and aftermarket parts in a timely manner while adhering to manufacturer and dealership guidelines
  • Collaborate closely with the service department to ensure parts availability for timely repairs and maintenance
  • Implement effective processes for receiving, storing, and issuing parts efficiently
  • Monitor and analyze key performance metrics, including gross profit, turnover rates, and fill rates
  • Address customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and ensure high levels of satisfaction
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations regarding parts storage and disposal
  • Maintain an organized and clean parts department that reflects the professionalism of the dealership

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in an automotive dealership parts department, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role
  • Strong working knowledge of OEM parts (GM experience strongly preferred)
  • Proficiency with parts inventory management systems and dealership DMS platforms (e.g., CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds)
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to effectively train, coach, and motivate team members
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and a customer-first mindset
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
