Lunar Tool & Mold, a second-generation precision manufacturing firm at the forefront of Ohio’s aerospace industry, is HIRING NOW for a CNC Programmer/ Machinist with 3-5+ years of experience to join our elite team. Operating since 1965, we bring nearly six decades of expertise in designing, engineering, machining, and manufacturing high-precision tools and molds for defense contractors and aerospace firms across the United States. Our state-of-the-art facility in North Royalton, OH, is equipped with top-tier technology, including Southwest/Bridgeport Bed and Knee mills, Makino EDMs, and cutting-edge CNC tooling from Makino, Mitsubishi, and Hwacheon. As a CNC Programmer/Machinist, you will play a key role in crafting high-precision components, programming advanced CNC machines, and ensuring the tooling we produce meets the strict standards demanded by our global aerospace clientele. You'll work with state-of-the-art CAD/CAM software, collaborate with top engineers, and contribute to some of the most innovative projects in the industry. Job Description

Precision CNC Programming & Machining: Develop and execute highly accurate 3D tool paths using NX CAD/CAM software Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints to maintain tolerances of +/- 0.001”

Responsibilities

  • Precision CNC Programming & Machining: Develop and execute highly accurate 3D tool paths using NX CAD/CAM software
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints to maintain tolerances of +/- 0.001”
  • Collaboration with Engineers & Machinists: Provide input on tooling design, ensuring feasibility and efficiency in manufacturing
  • CNC Setup & Operation: Configure and operate CNC machines, including Fadal, Mitsubishi, Fanuc, Makino, and other systems
  • Quality Assurance: Analyze Blue Light Inspection reports to ensure tooling meets exact specifications
  • Process Standardization: Utilize internal documentation and templates to streamline CNC programming
  • Project Management & Coordination: Delegate machining tasks to ensure on-time project completion
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement efficiency and quality enhancements

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience creating 3D tool paths (high-precision aerospace environment preferred)
  • 3-5+ years of experience programming and machining complex components
  • CAD/CAM Proficiency: Experience with NX, CATIA, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other professional CAD/CAM software
  • Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Ability to set up CNC tooling and machine blocks
  • Strong understanding of CNC control systems (Fadal, Mitsubishi, Fanuc, Makino, etc.)
  • Familiarity with common tool room equipment (mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses)
  • Skilled in precision measurement tools (calipers, indicators, depth mics)
  • Siemens NX Experience
  • Computer Skills: Above-average computer literacy and proficiency with common computer products such as Microsoft Office
  • Strong time management and independent work mindset
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate with engineers and machinists
  • Mechanical aptitude with an emphasis on accuracy and efficiency
