Operate and maintain manual machine shop equipment, ensuring precision and efficiency. We work with Southwestern Industries mills and lathes utilizing ProtoTRAK controls.

Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain manual machine shop equipment, ensuring precision and efficiency.
- We work with Southwestern Industries mills and lathes utilizing ProtoTRAK controls.
- Review drawings, instructions, blueprints, or samples to ensure accurate production.
- Take precise measurements to execute cutting and shaping with accuracy.
- Select appropriate machines and settings based on project requirements.
- Monitor production processes, making real-time adjustments to feed rates and settings as needed.
- Inspect finished products for quality assurance, documenting or discarding defects.
- Maintain a clean and safe workstation, adhering to all company and industry safety regulations.
- Support research and development (R&D) and prototype small-batch projects.
- Assist with sheet metal and miscellaneous metal shop needs as necessary.
- Contribute to team success by completing additional tasks as required.
Requirements
- Experience in machining with steel, aluminum, and stainless steel required.
- Strong ability to follow work orders and collaborate within a team environment.
- ProtoTRAK control experience is a plus!
- Experience with Southwestern knee mills and lathes is a plus!
- Ability to read and interpret designs and blueprints with precision.
- Physically capable of lifting at least 50 pounds and performing manual labor.
- Comfortable standing for an entire 8-hour shift.
- Knowledge of various steels, alloys, and NDE processes and requirements.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
